If you are using a white standard, WS-1 or WS-1-SL, or the high and low reflection standards, STAN-SSH or STAN-SSL chances are you are not using them properly. The reflectivity of these standards are not 100%. To use them in Spectrasuite you need their nominal reflectivity vs wavelength files and you need to use the non-unity correction factor function in Spectrasuite. Follow this link to download the file and to see directions on how to use the standards. http://www.spectrecology.com/Standards_and_References.php Have you already taken lots of data the wrong way? You can post process the data to correct for the error.

Are your lizards doing poorly? It might be the lighting. Lizards need some UV light to stay healthy, but too much can kill them. We have just built a spectrometer system with a special "lizard probe" for measuring ambient UV spectra at the bottom of lizard pens. We will post some results as soon as we get them.

Check out our Facebook Spectrecology page. We have a discussion board there as well. Just search for "spectrecology"

Windows 7 64 bit works! Now you can get a version of Spectrasuite that works with Windows 7. Either of these links should get you to the latest version (they point to the same file): ftp://downloads.oceanoptics.net/SpectraSuite/SpectraSuiteSetup_Windows64.msi http://downloads.oceanoptics.net/SpectraSuite/SpectraSuiteSetup_Windows64.msi A note about getting the driver installed after plugging in the spectrometer: It is important to note that after running the installer and installing SpectraSuite for the first time, the driver installation will be slightly different. When the user plugs in his/her Ocean Optics spectrometer for the first time, the Found New Hardware wizard will be displayed. Rather than telling the wizard to install the drivers automatically, select the option to allow the user to specify the location of the drivers. When prompted for a location, browse to the SystemFiles directory of the SpectraSuite installation (by default this will be C:\Program Files\Ocean Optics\SpectraSuite\SystemFiles). The user may then continue through the wizard normally.

New products and news from Ocean Optics: * Extended range USB2000+ spectrometer, now 200 - 1100nm * Extra big battery for JAZ spectrometers * Oxygen Sensors: the platinum/porphyrin sol gel product is currently unavailable. The one and only supplier in the world of the fluorophore changed his recipe. * Free Kindle 2 from Amazon -- This promotion is going strong. I load up all your manuals on the electronic book and ship it with your spectrometer system. If you haven't tried a Kindle its really nice.

Actually I have a question and couldn't see how else to contact you. I am interested in double chamber cuvettes for use in determining type I ligand binding spectra for CYP enzymes. If you have any info about these cuvettes, please contact me. thanks! Great pictures!
