The Torus Miniature Spectrometer is a Visible range (360-825 nm) unit that delivers low stray light (0.015% at 400 nm) and high throughput. Torus features an outstanding thermal stability, lower stray light and higher efficiency than conventional spectrometers.
The trick is an innovative variable line spacing grating with 550 grooves/mm at the wider spacing towrads the edges.
The concave grating also helps to improve thermal stability of the Torus and reduce stray light. Wavelength drift is nearly eliminated and peak shape stays the same over a wide temperature range.

The systems made by Photon Machines include the state-of-the-art Crossfire, an Exchelle based spectrometer with intensified CCD camera for detection. Other models are UV and IR based Insight units and the new ZAP educational system.
LIBS provides instant analysis of multiple elements in a single laser shot. There is no sample preparation and it is capable of detecting virtually every element of industrial interest.
