The SIR-1700 Scanning spectrometer uses an unique layered detector with a Si base and an InGaAs layer to collect spectral data from 400nm to 1700nm. The spectrometer's fiber based system utilizes a unique design which allows for rapid spectral scans over its entire range, or it can provide real time data from one or several discrete wavelengths. The compact design allows the SIR Analyzers to be easily integrated into OEM and online process applications. The SIR-1700 offers many innovative features, which make this a very high value in infrared instrumentation. The SIR Analyzer uses a single point detector and a high angular resolution tunable grating system. The zero backlash mechanical design provides superior accuracy and repeatability. This combination along with an innovative 24 bit Analog to Digital Converter provides high spectral resolution and very high signal to noise data. An optional integrated filter wheel provides optical order sorting of diffracted orders. The SIR Analyzers are designed with a rugged aluminum housing which is robust enough to withstand the rigors of chemical processing applications. On board data processing can be accomplished with a powerful microprocessor. Synchronization with external components and light sources is accomplished through a 14 pin digital interface.
The USB 2.0 compliant interface provides fast data transfers between the spectrometer and the host PC. Our included “SIRControl” software package is used to control all of the spectrometer functions, display and analyze data. The SIR Analyzers support a variety of triggering interfaces including an external synchronization, and a light source trigger output, both modes have an independently adjustable phase delay adjustment.

The “Cool Red” borrows its name from stars that emit light mostly in the infrared part of the spectrum. It’s designed to fill the need of light sources for infrared fiber based spectroscopy. The Cool Red accomplishes this by a unique optical and thermal design that couples light energy from a silicon Nitride emitter glowing at 1500 °Kelvin. The Cool Red source works great as a compliment to Sandhouse Design's SIR line of midinfrared analyzers, or in any general application where high intensity infrared light is needed. This light source offers many unique features and an ergonomic design. For systems that require optical modulation, an integrated optical shutter can be modulated at frequencies of up to 200hz. The shutter can be driven externally through a 15 pin digital interface. If no external drive is available, the shutter can be driven internally by an integrated adjustable square wave generator. The frequency can be continually adjusted through the control knob on the front panel from .5hz to 200hz.. The digital output for this signal can be taken from the same 15 pin interface and used to synchronize other devices.

The FOPP has only sapphire and 316 Stainless Steel as the wetted materials. This will insure compatibility with the most demanding of process measurements. The optical design uses seperate lenses for transmitting and receiving the light. This minimizes error due to scattering. The tip of the probe uses a Sapphire Retro-reflector to return the light.
The modular design allows for a low cost that is not available in other industrial probe designs. The path length can easily be modified by simply changing a spacer. 2,5,10 and 20mm spacers are presently available.
The probe can be made with fiber suitable for UV-VIS (190-1100nm), VIS-NIR (400-2200nm), NIR (400nm - 4 um) and mid IR (2 - 6.5 um)
