Note: This paper does not cite an Ocean Optics spectrometer. However, the methodology described here was later used with an Ocean Optics S2000 Miniature Fiber Optic Spectrometer to make nondestructive measurements of the soluble solids and total solids content of kiwifruit. In addition, samples measured at Ocean Optics proved the feasibility of similar measurements for fruits and vegetables such as grapes, tomatoes and onions.
