UV LED Light Sources provide exceptional coupling efficiency between UV and VIS LEDs and single optical fibers. The result is a powerful source of light for fluorescence, spectroscopy or general fiber illumination applications.

Innovative electronics drive the LEDs with a stable high current and allows them to be run at even higher peak currents when operated in the external triggered mode. The user can select continuous, externally triggered or OFF from a switch on the front. A separate switch allows you to adjust the power level. All functions can also be accessed through a 15 pin interface connector. An optional USB controller can be used to customize the settings including the drive current, pulse width and pulse frequency.  LLS units come as single LED sources as shown above, and also 4 channel and 8 channel units.

UV LEDS are available at nearly every 5nm increment in wavelength from 250nm to 360nm and high power LEDS at selected wavelengths from 365 to 637nm The table below shows stock items. If you have a particular need call us. If the LED exists we can provide you with a custom wavelength source.

• All LED modules will work in all LLS unit. Users can buy any wavelength LED module to change the wavelength of their system. Onboard eprom sets the proper volatge and current.
• 2 uW - 1.5 mW power coupled into a single 600 micron fiber in CW mode. The LEDS are internally coupled to a 600 um fiber, so any other size used will result in a loss of energy.
• 30 mA max drive current CW
• 200 mA max drive current pulsed mode
• 1% max duty cycle in pulsed mode

Multi-LED Sources & Single Source Modules

Multiple LED light sources provide an easy way to deliver multiple wavelengths of light sequentially, or combined for excitation/emission mapping in fluorescence, ultra low stray light absorbance measurements and other applications. The built in controller provides for high power low duty cycle pulsing, external triggering and outgoing trigger signals and power level in CW mode. LEDS mounted on heatsink

These high power LEDS are mounted on a heat sink with wiring and connector for direct replacement in an LLS or MCLS light source. The power specification is for light into a single 60 0 micron fiber. These high powered sources will illuminate as many fibers as can be fit intio the SMA port.

The SPDVIS is a fiber optic detector module with a built in low noise preamplifier, user selectable gain, 24 bit A/D and USB interface. It comes with a user software package to control settings and capture data, and also a software developers kit. It can acquire data as fast as 3 KHz, can operate in triggered mode, and there is an optional in-line filter holder. It is ideal for making fiber optic based fluorescence, absorbance, reflection or backscattering measurements using any of our LEDS as sources.

UV LEDS

AlInGaN semiconductor UVTOP LEDS with emission peaks from 240nm - 355nm. These are excellent devices for UV excitation for fluorescence, and for narrow band illumination for absorbance. The devices are packaged in a TO39 size can. Typical emissions are hundreds of uW, 12-15nm FWHM bandwidths. Chosse the data sheet nearest to your wavelength of interest. Lifetime varies with wavelength:
