It has a highly sensitive detector with exceptional quantum efficiency from UV to NIR, cooling to 0 degrees C, on onboard buffer that holds up to 15,000 spectra for fast data acquisition and for the first time, user interchangeable slits!

And, now the QEPro has an optional software controlled built in shutter. This makes the QEPro the ideal choice for online monitoring, low light level applications and long experiments where regular dark measurements are required.

The back story ,,,

The original version of this spectrometer was the QE65000. This was built at the request of a customer who needed a cooled, sensitive detector for a fluorescence application. We managed to fit a cooled back-thinned Hamamatsu detector into into our larger “HR” bench. Naming it seemed like a dilemma. we always named spectrometers by the bench (S or HR) and the number of pixels (S2000 has 2048 pixels).  HR65000 didn’t sound so good, so we broke tradition and named it the QE65000.  Over the years we made dramatic improvements in the design and each time changed its name — QE65000-Pro redesigned optical bench for lower stray light, QE65-Pro re-designed electronics for the cooling system and for lower noise in the detector, and now QEPro with improved electronics for buffering, exceptional low noise, and the very useful features of user interchangeable slits and built in shutter.
